| Pontlevoy - in the heart of the Loire Valley chateaux | Pontlevoy is situated in an area rich in history, attractive to tourists and just a few kilometers from the chateaux of Amboise, Blois, Chambord, Chaumont, Chenonceau and Cheverny. The Abbey of Pontlevoy, founded in 1034, is a national site of interest and possesses a magnificent gothic church built in the 15th century, a chapel and dormitories which were built in the 18th century. |
| Indoor Arena and chapel in the Benedictine Abbey | Adjoining the Abbey is the indoor arena where most of the Festival's concerts are held. A magical place, architecturally grand, this large, rectangular room is enriched by a mezannine fashioned from old oak. It is spacious, simple and welcoming. |
| The Acoustics | The Arena (capacity of around 550) has acoustics of a rare quality, the experts tell us. The acoustics in the chapel (capacity of around 200) offer a more intimate musical experience. |
| The Public | Our audience, growing larger every year, come from every walk of life. Each year the Music Festival at Pontlevoy attracts music lovers from farther and farther away. |
| A Changeable Venue | Depending on the music performance, seating can be arranged in any number of ways. Piano recitals and small chamber orchestras can perform surrounded by the audience. Large symphonic orchestras and choruses will be seated in front of the audience on a raised stage. |
